History Solgar
Solgar's history began in Manhattan, New York in 1947. Pharmacists Nat Colby and Mike Goldfarb, together with holistic physician Carl Zoll, started the Solgar Vitamin & Herb company from their shared passion for the preventive effect of natural supplements.The first Solgar product was sold in a pharmacy in Manhattan; Naturvite, a powdered multi-vitamin. After three years, Colby goes on alone and meets Allen Skolnick, a young biochemist. Together they continue the company with their own philosophy and working method, based on science, innovation, quality and integrity. The company started in 1947 with one employee and one product, nowadays the range has grown into an international company with more than 300 Solgar products.
