In humans, prostate antigen (PSA) is secreted by the prostate. The prostate antigen level provides information about the physiological state of the prostate. For instance, levels above the normal range may indicate prostate pathology (benign hypertrophy, prostatitis, cancer, etc.). The PSA test can be performed at least once a year in men over the age of 50 or with a family history of prostate problems.In the case of prostate problems, the chances of recovery can be significantly increased through early screening.

Usage of Swiss Point of Care Zelftest Prosta-Check:
1. Prepare the test device, the pipette, and the dropper bottle with diluent. Remove them from the protective pouch (tear at the notch. Remove the screw cap from the diluent dropper bottle and keep it nearby).2. Clean the tip of the middle or ring finger with cotton moistened with alcohol. Press the lancet firmly against the side of the previously cleaned finger and press the release button.
3. Bring the plastic pipette into contact with the blood sample without pressing on the bulb. The whole blood migrates into the pipette by capillary action to the line indicated on the pipette.
4. Dispense the blood into the sample opening of the cassette by pressing the bulb of the pipette downwards. Wait 30-40 seconds for the blood to be absorbed. Unscrew the blue cap from the dropper bottle and keep the white cap in place. Add 4 drops of diluent to the well, with an interval of 2-3 seconds. Read the result after 10 minutes. Do not interpret after 15 minutes.
