The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of at least 1200 mg of calcium and 20 g of vitamin D3 from all possible sources. Like calcium, magnesium is a basic component of bone tissue and important for bone composition and muscle function. Vitamin D ensures that calcium from food is properly absorbed. Moreover, this vitamin increases calcium absorption into the bones.
