Ghee is prepared using a traditional Indian method in which butter is heated until all the moisture evaporates and the milk sugars solidify. The resulting pure butterfat can be heated to much higher temperatures without releasing harmful substances than regular butter. Ghee contains the essential fatty acids Omega-3 and Omega-9, as well as vitamins A, D, E, and K.Ghee has a combustion point of 250°C, making it ideal for baking. It contains no proteins, making it ideal for those who are lactose intolerant but still want to bake in a product that resembles butter. Thanks to its nourishing and moisturizing properties, ghee can also be used for external care.
This ghee is made with real Dutch butter from grass-fed, organically raised cows. Unlike traditional Indian ghee, Mattisson ghee is wonderfully neutral with a mild flavor.
