Application of HeltiQ Reddingsdeken:
An insulating blanket is a safety device that absolutely must not be forgotten, whether traveling in the car, on a boat, or during a winter sports holiday. To function properly, the body requires a certain continuous temperature. However, due to a number of situations, this can be disrupted to such an extent that the temperature drops or rises. An insulating blanket is a large blanket made of aluminum foil that protects against hypothermia and sunburn.For use in cases of hypothermia, wrap the person in the blanket with the gold-colored side facing outwards to prevent further cooling. For use in cases of burns, hold the silver-colored side outwards.
An insulation blanket is indispensable in the car and first aid kit.
The size of the insulation blanket is 210 x 160 cm.

Usage of HeltiQ Reddingsdeken:
HypothermiaIn case of severe hypothermia, immediately call a doctor; in the meantime, take the following measures:
1. Protect the victim from the wind
2. Keep the victim lying down as much as possible and remove wet clothing if possible. Immediately wrap the person in the insulating blanket, with the gold-colored side facing outwards to prevent further cooling.
3. Give something warm to drink, preferably not coffee, certainly no alcohol, and warm the person up slowly (never rub hard).
4. Stages of hypothermia
1st phase: The victim feels cold, the body starts shivering, a feeling of hunger develops, and a rapid pulse.
2nd phase: The victim is immobile, stammers, has slow reflexes, and becomes apathetic (wants to go to sleep).
3rd phase: If nothing is done about the hypothermia, unconsciousness will occur and the victim may die of cardiac arrest.
NB!
Heat loss in water is particularly high. Therefore, drowning victims are almost always hypothermic! Always call for professional help in case of severe hypothermia!
Combustion
If necessary, call a doctor and do not give the victim anything to eat or drink!
1. Cool with lukewarm water for at least 10 minutes
2. Leave clothing stuck to the skin in place.
3. Cover the burn with a sterile dressing; do not apply anything to the wound.
4. Immediately wrap the person and/or the burned body part in the insulating blanket with the silver side facing outwards.
Degrees of combustion
1st degree: The skin is red, slightly swollen, and painful.
2nd degree: Same, with blisters
3rd degree: The skin is grayish-white (boiled) or black (charred) and numb at the site of the wound.
NB!
Always call for professional help in case of a 2nd- or 3rd-degree burn!
