The company Redmond is based in the town of the same name, Redmond, in Utah, USA. The story began with two brothers who, due to the prolonged drought of 1958, needed to find an alternative source of income to continue feeding their families. On their land, they uncovered a salt deposit and began mining it. At the time, there were already two other salt companies operating in the area. By the late 1960s, Redmond acquired the first salt company, followed by the second in the early 1980s. Real Salt is carefully extracted from an ancient underground deposit, which geologists believe to be the remnants of a prehistoric inland sea. Redmond now offers a wide range of products, divided into different lines: Real Salt, Seasonings, Re-Lyte, Earthpaste, and Redmond Clay.
