Lamberts Pure Borage Oil contains Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). GLA is a fatty acid necessary for the body (essential fatty acid) for the production of certain hormones, including the hormone-like substance prostaglandin PGE1. PGE1 participates in the regulation of the neurogenic, cardiovascular, and reproductive systems, skin condition, and other biological functions. GLA is often recommended to women during menstruation, menopause, or for people with skin problems. Although the body can produce GLA from the conversion of another fatty acid from the Omega-6 family, linoleic acid, the conversion is often insufficient, and therefore dietary supplementation is often necessary.✓These capsules contain pure stabilized borage oil with a guaranteed level of 220 mg GLA per capsule.
