What is this medicine used for?Pain relief for the throat
This product contains amylmetacresol and 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol – both antiseptic (disinfectant) substances – and lidocaine hydrochloride – a local pain reliever for the throat.
Composition of Teva Trachsil Sinaasappel :
Each tablet contains:Lidocaine hydrochloride 2 mg
Amylmetacresol 0.60 mg
2,4-Dichlorobenzyl alcohol 1.20 mg
Ingredients of Teva Trachsil Sinaasappel :
Lidocaine hydrochloride, amylmetacresol, 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, levomenthol, sodium saccharin (E954), sucrose, liquid glucose, sunset yellow (E110), ponceau 4R (E124), citric acid monohydrate (E330), orange flavouringUse of Teva Trachsil Sinaasappel :
Adults and young people aged 12 and older:Allow one lozenge to dissolve slowly in the mouth every 2-3 hours. Use a maximum of 8 lozenges per 24 hours (maximum of 4 lozenges for children). Do not allow the lozenge to dissolve in the cheek pouch.
Warning:
This medicine should not be used by children under the age of 12.
The use of this medicine during pregnancy is not recommended.
It is not recommended to use this product during the breastfeeding period.
It is not recommended to use this medicine for more than 5 days, as it may disrupt the natural microbiological balance in the throat.
Are you taking any other medicines?
Are you using any other medicines in addition to TRACHSIL, or have you done so recently, or is there a possibility that you will use other medicines in the near future? If so, tell your doctor or pharmacist.
Be sure to mention if you are using any of the following medicines, as it may be necessary to adjust the dosage:
- Beta-blockers (a certain group of medications for high blood pressure, certain heart conditions, and increased eye pressure) and medications containing cimetidine (used for the treatment of stomach ulcers)
- Other local anesthetics (local anesthetic agents; amides)
- Medicines to treat heart conditions, such as mexiletine or procainamide
- Medicines such as fluvoxamine (used to treat depression)
- Antibiotics (medicines against certain bacterial infections), such as erythromycin or itraconazole Please read information leaflet before use
