Our Organic Maitake Powder contains 100% organically grown Maitake (Grifola frondosa) fruiting body extract in a 1:1 ratio. This traditional mushroom, also known as the “dancing mushroom” or “Hen of the Woods”, is cultivated under strictly controlled organic conditions on an EU-certified farm.Maitake is a mushroom that grows naturally at the base of oaks, chestnuts, and other deciduous trees in mountainous regions of Japan, China, and North America. The mushroom grows in large, overlapping clusters resembling the tail feathers of a chicken, which explains the English name “Hen of the Woods.” In Japan, Maitake is known as the “dancing mushroom”—according to legend, people danced for joy when they found this valuable mushroom.
Our Maitake powder is a fruiting body extract, which means that only the flesh (fruiting body) of the mushroom is used – not the mycelium on the grain. This guarantees a higher concentration of active substances such as beta-glucans and polysaccharides. The 1:1 extract ratio means that 1 kg of finished product is made from 1 kg of fresh Maitake fruiting bodies, without the addition of fillers.
Our extract contains a minimum of 30% Beta-glucans and 4% Polysaccharides, tested according to international standards.
