Application of Biocard Helicobacter Pylori / Maagcheck Test:
This self-test is suitable for home use. However, it cannot distinguish between a previous infection and a current infection. The result is available within minutes. The test requires only a small drop of blood to detect antibodies against Helicobacter Pylori ("stomach ulcer" bacteria). This bacterium is generally easily treated with one or more antibiotics, often in combination with antacids.Stomach-Check® is recommended for:
1. Complaints (such as (vague) pain in the stomach area, nausea, bloating, loss of appetite and sometimes vomiting)
2. A suspicion of the presence of the bacteria.
2. In addition, it is an excellent test to check after treatment whether the bacteria are completely gone.
After a confirmed infection and antibiotic treatment, it takes an average of up to six months for the antibodies to disappear from the blood. Maag-check® is a quick and easy test to rule out the presence of the bacteria after this period. It is recommended to repeat the test twice a year for a previous infection. You can easily do this at home. Antibiotic treatment does not guarantee that the Helicobacter Pylori bacteria will not resurface. In some cases, it may take longer for all antibodies to disappear from the blood and for the test to become negative.
