Ticks are found everywhere in the Netherlands. Ticks can be infected with the Borrelia bacteria, which can make you very ill (Lyme disease), but your pet can also develop unpleasant symptoms after being bitten. The greatest risk of being bitten is in the woods or in your garden. Therefore, check your pet and yourself for ticks after every walk. Be careful, a young tick can only be 1-3 mm long!
