Pau d'Arco is the name used for the bark of several trees in the Tabebuia genus. These trees grow in the tropical rainforests of South America. The inner bark of the tree is the part traditionally used.So you'll find Pau d'Arco in the warm and humid regions of South America. The trees can grow quite large.
For centuries, indigenous peoples in South America have used the bark of the Pau d'Arco tree. They used to make tea and extracts from it, for example, to utilize the plant's properties.
You can make a tincture from Pau d'Arco. This is a liquid extract containing the substances found in the bark. We use water and alcohol to extract these substances from the plant. This way, you can utilize the properties of Pau d'Arco.
