Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) is a perennial plant in the Fabaceae family. It can grow up to one and a half meters tall and has pinnate leaves with small leaflets. Small lilac to purple flowers appear in summer. Licorice has an extensive root system with long, sweet roots and rhizomes.The plant is native to parts of Europe and Asia, where it grows in sunny, moist locations, such as along rivers. Today, licorice is also cultivated on a larger scale.
Licorice root has been used for centuries. Besides its characteristic sweet flavor, the root was also valued for other uses. Extracts were made from the root early on.
Licorice can be made into a tincture: a liquid extract containing the sweet and other active components of the root. Water and alcohol are used to extract the active ingredients from the plant, allowing licorice's properties to be optimally utilized.

Take 15 to 20 drops 3 times a day, unless otherwise advised by your health professional.For children from 2 to 15 years old, the same number of drops applies as their age.
Preferably take with sufficient water.
