Bio-Pycnogenol is a patented extract from the bark of the French maritime pine (Pinus pinaster).What is Pycnogenol:
Pycnogenol is derived from the bark of the French maritime pine with the Latin name Pinus pinaster. These trees are cultivated in a plantation of 2.5 million ares in southwestern France. The wood is primarily used to make furniture, and care is taken to ensure that for every tree felled, a new, young tree is planted. The production process is therefore entirely sustainable. Pycnogenol can be extracted from the bark that remains as waste after felling. Approximately 1,000 kg of bark is required for the production of 1 kg of pycnogenol. Furthermore, it is important that the bioflavonoids are extracted from the bark within 48 hours of the tree being felled.
Using a patented procedure, the bark is pulverized and removed using ethanol and water. After being thoroughly cleaned and spray-dried, the crude extract is made into a fine brown powder. This extract is then standardized to a content of 70% +/- 5% of the active plant compounds known as procyanidine.
There are various types of bioflavonoids in pycnogenol, for example catechin, epicatechin, flavones, and taxifolin. Pycnogenol also contains various fruit acids, such as caffeic acid, ferulic acid, gallic acid, coumaric acid, and vanilla acid. Both bioflavonoids and fruit acids occur in fruits and vegetables, but never simultaneously in a single plant and not in the same quantities.
The tablets contain a unique blend of water-soluble, naturally occurring bioflavonoids, several of which are also antioxidants. Bio-Pycnogenol is a dietary supplement without added nutrients.

Microcrystalline cellulose, maltodextrin, magnesium salts of fatty acids, pine extract (Pinus Pinaster): pycnogenol®, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, tricalcium phosphate.Usage of Pharma Nord Bio-Pycnogenol:
You take 2 tablets twice a day for one week, then 1 tablet twice a day unless otherwise advised by your healthcare professional.Preferably take with a meal.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
