Bio-Pycnogenol is a patented extract of the bark of the French maritime pine (Pinus pinaster).Wat is Pycnogenol:
Pycnogenol is derived from the bark of the French maritime pine, Pinus pinaster. These trees are grown on a 2.5-million-acre plantation in southwestern France. The wood is primarily used to make furniture, ensuring that for every tree felled, a new sapling is added. The production process is therefore completely sustainable. Pycnogenol can be extracted from the bark that remains as waste after felling. Approximately 1,000 kg of bark is needed to produce 1 kg of pycnogenol. Furthermore, it is important that the bioflavonoids are extracted from the bark within 48 hours of felling the tree.
Using a patented process, the bark is pulverized and removed with ethanol and water. After being thoroughly cleaned and spray-dried, the crude extract is made into a fine brown powder. This extract is then standardized to a content of 70% +/- 5% of the active plant compounds known as procyanidin.
Pycnogenol contains several types of bioflavonoids, such as catechin, epicatechin, flavones, and taxifolin. Pycnogenol also contains various fruit acids, such as caffeic acid, ferulic acid, gallic acid, coumaric acid, and vanillic acid. Both bioflavonoids and fruit acids are found in fruits and vegetables, but never simultaneously in the same plant and not in the same quantities.
The tablets contain a unique blend of water-soluble, naturally occurring bioflavonoids, several of which are also antioxidants. Bio-Pycnogenol is a dietary supplement with no added nutrients.

Microcrystalline cellulose, Maltodextrin, Magnesium salts of fatty acids, Pine extract (Pinus Pinaster): Pycnogenol®, Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, Tricalcium phosphate.Usage of Pharma Nord Bio-Pycnogenol:
You take 2 tablets twice a day for one week, then 1 tablet twice a day unless otherwise advised by your health professional.Preferably take with a meal.
