What is this medicine used for
Ibuprofen (as lysine) Sanias 400 mg is used for the short-term relief of the symptoms of: Headache and migraine pain
This medicine is intended for use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age who weigh more than
of 40 kg.
Film-coated tablets of this medication have a score line on one side. The score line is only there to help you break the tablet if you have trouble swallowing it whole.
Composition of Sanias Ibuprofen (als Lysine) 400 mg:
Active substances: Each film-coated tablet contains 684 mg ibuprofen lysine (equivalent to 400 mg ibuprofen).Excipients: LACTOSE monohydrate, maize starch, povidone K25 (E1201), sodium starch glycolate (Type A), magnesium stearate (E470b), polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide (E171), macrogol 3350, talc (E553b) and indigotine (E132).
Usage of Sanias Ibuprofen (als Lysine) 400 mg:
Dosage Adults:Do not take more than 3 tablets per day (24 hours). In general, 1 tablet every 8 to 12 hours is sufficient. A starting dose of 2 tablets can be taken, and if symptoms persist after 12 hours, another tablet can be taken.
Dosage Children aged 12 years and over with a body weight of more than 40 kg:
Maximum 1 tablet at a time. Do not take more than 2 tablets per day (24 hours) with an interval of 12 hours.
Do not use in children weighing less than 40 kg.
Dosage Elderly aged 65 years and over:
Do not take more than 2 tablets in any 24 hour period.
Dosage
Use in adults and adolescents weighing over 40 kg (12 years and older):
- Take 1 tablet with water, as needed, up to three times a day.
- Wait at least six hours before taking the next tablet.
- Do not take more than 3 tablets (1200 mg ibuprofen) in any 24 hour period.
Children and young people
Do not give this medicine to children under 12 years or adolescents weighing less than 40 kg.
Warning Sanias Ibuprofen (als Lysine) 400 mg:
Before taking this medicine, talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you:• have or have had asthma or an allergic condition, because shortness of breath may occur,
• suffer from hay fever, nasal polyps or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, as there is an increased risk of allergic reactions. These allergic reactions may occur in the form of asthma attacks (so-called analgesic asthma), angioedema (swelling of the skin and mucous membranes (e.g. throat or tongue) with difficulty breathing and/or itching and rash, often as an allergic reaction) or urticaria (skin rash with severe itching and raised lumps).
• have kidney, heart, liver or intestinal problems,
• have or have ever had stomach or intestinal disorders (such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease),
• has certain hereditary blood formation disorders (for example, acute intermittent porphyria),
• systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE; immune disease in which the body attacks its own cells,
which causes inflammation in multiple organs) or mixed connective tissue disease
(immune system disorders that cause joint pain, skin changes and
(causing disorders of other organs),
• have chickenpox (varicella). It is recommended that you do not take this medicine as the condition may get worse,
• you have an infection.
• has recently undergone a major surgical procedure (operation),
• are dehydrated,
• taking other NSAIDs. Concomitant use with NSAIDs, including selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitors, should be avoided,
• are less than 6 months pregnant.
Other warnings
• Anti-inflammatory/painkillers such as ibuprofen may be associated with mild
increased risk of heart attack or stroke, especially with high doses. You should not take more of this medicine
use and do not use this product for longer than recommended.
• Discuss your treatment with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you:
- have heart problems, including heart failure (insufficient pumping power of the heart), angina (chest pain) or if you have had a heart attack, bypass surgery, peripheral arterial disease (poor circulation in the legs or feet due to narrow or blocked arteries) or any kind of stroke (including 'mini-stroke' or transient ischaemic attack 'TIA'),
- have high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol, have a family history of heart problems or stroke, or if you smoke.
• There have been reports of symptoms of an allergic reaction to ibuprofen after taking this medicine, including difficulty breathing, swelling of the face and neck (angioedema), and chest pain. If you notice any of these symptoms, stop taking Ibuprofen (as lysine) Sanias 400 mg and contact your doctor or emergency department straight away.
Children and young people
Do not give this medicine to adolescents weighing less than 40 kg or children under
12 years. There is a risk of kidney damage in dehydrated young people.
