Application of Johnson & Johnson Microlax Microklysma:
Microlax contains sorbitol, among other ingredients. This substance promotes bowel movements by attracting moisture. This results in softer stools and improved bowel function.Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate facilitates the penetration of the Microlax solution into the stool.
What is this medicine used for
Microlax can be used if you suffer from difficult bowel movements due to hard
stool that is in the last part of your large intestine, or if you cannot pass stool
to hold up.
Microlax can also be used in preparation for bowel examination or surgical procedure
procedure in the rectum (the lower part of the large intestine).
Do not use with
- You are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine.
- If you suffer from bleeding hemorrhoids, if you suffer from ulcerative colitis, or if you suffer from inflammation of the rectum (proctitis).
Dosage
The contents of a tube of Microlax rectal solution are introduced into the rectum (the lower part of the large intestine) through the cannula (the extended spout) on the tube.
How is this drug dosed?
The contents of 1 tube of rectal solution are administered rectally.
As a rule, bowel movements occur 5 to 20 minutes after administration of the rectal solution.

Active ingredient: 9 mg sodium lauryl sulfoacetate and 625 mg sorbitol per mlExcipients: sodium citrate, sorbic acid, glycerol and distilled water.
Use of Johnson & Johnson Microlax Microklysma:
1. Hold the tube at the bottom of the cannula and twist and pull off the cap with a light motion (see figure 1).2. Gently squeeze a drop of liquid from the tube; this will make the cannula greasy, which
facilitates insertion into the rectum.
3. Insert the cannula into the rectum (in children only halfway, see the markings on the cannula).
4. Squeeze out the entire contents of the tube (see figure 2).
