Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
- If you have an infection.
- If you suffer from systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) or mixed connective tissue disease (immune system disorders with joint pain, skin rash and fever).
- If you have a form of hereditary blood production disorder (for example: acute intermittent porphyria) or have problems with blood clotting.
- If you have or have had a bowel disease (ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease).
- If you have reduced kidney function.
- If you have liver problems.
- If you have recently had major surgery.
- If you have or have had asthma or an allergic condition, as shortness of breath may occur.
- If you suffer from hay fever, nasal polyps, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, as there is an increased risk of allergic reactions. These allergic reactions may manifest as asthma attacks (so-called analgesic asthma), acute swelling (Quincke's edema), or a skin rash.
- If you are taking other medicines that can increase the risk of ulcers or bleeding, such as oral corticosteroids, blood thinners (such as warfarin), selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (medicines used to treat depression) or antiplatelet agents such as acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin).
There have been reports of allergic reactions to ibuprofen after taking this medicine, including difficulty breathing, swelling of the face and neck (angioedema), and chest pain. If you experience any of these symptoms, stop taking Ibuprofen Linn 200 mg liquid caps sugar-free and contact your doctor or emergency department immediately.

Long-term use of painkillers for headaches can worsen your symptoms. If you think this is the case, stop taking Ibuprofen Linn 200 mg liquid caps sugar-free and contact your doctor. Do not use Ibuprofen Linn 200 mg liquid caps sugar-free if you have chickenpox (varicella). If you use Ibuprofen Linn 200 mg liquid caps sugar-free for a long period of time, your blood, liver, and kidneys should be checked regularly. Using Ibuprofen Linn 200 mg liquid caps sugar-free in combination with other NSAIDs, such as selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitors, can increase the risk of side effects and should be avoided (see the "Other medicines and Ibuprofen Linn" section below). In general, long-term or frequent use of (different types of) painkillers can lead to permanent, serious kidney problems and should be avoided. The risk further increases with salt loss and dehydration. NSAIDs can mask symptoms of infection or fever. There is a risk of kidney function impairment in dehydrated young people. Anti-inflammatory/painkillers such as ibuprofen may be associated with a small increased risk of heart attack or stroke, especially at high doses. You should not exceed the recommended dose or duration of treatment.

Use during pregnancy/breastfeeding
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant if you are taking Ibuprofen Linn 200 mg liquid caps sugar-free. Do not take this medicine if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy, as it may harm your unborn baby or cause problems during delivery. It can cause kidney and heart problems in your unborn baby. It may affect your and your baby's bleeding tendency and cause delivery to be later or take longer than expected. You should not use this medicine during the first 6 months of pregnancy unless clearly necessary and advised by your doctor. If you need treatment with ibuprofen during this period or while trying to conceive, use the lowest possible dose for the shortest possible time. From week 20 of pregnancy, if used for more than a few days, this medicine may cause kidney problems in your unborn baby. This can result in the baby having too little amniotic fluid (oligohydramnios) or narrowing of a blood vessel in the baby's heart (ductus arteriosus). If you require treatment for more than a few days, your doctor may recommend additional monitoring.

Only small amounts of ibuprofen and its breakdown products pass into breast milk. Ibuprofen can be used during breastfeeding, provided it is used in the recommended dosage and for the shortest possible time.
