Application of XXL Nutrition O.R.S. (Oral Rehydration Salts):
ORS stands for Oral Rehydration Salts, or Oral Rehydration Solution. This translates to oral rehydration solution in Dutch. Originally, it was primarily used for fluid loss/dehydration due to diarrhea, for example, but it has also proven to be a highly effective formula for (endurance) athletes. The special hypotonic formula allows fluid to be absorbed as effectively as possible by your cells, thus replenishing body fluids. Due to its effectiveness, ORS has even been included on the World Health Organization (WHO) Model List of Essential Medicines.ORS is a specific blend of carbohydrates (dextrose) and salts (a combination of sodium and potassium). This mix, in the correct ratio, creates a hypotonic drink with a low osmolality of 220 mmol/kg. Simply put, this means that fluid is absorbed more easily than with, for example, an isotonic drink. This is exactly what you need when your body has become dehydrated due to prolonged (endurance) training, high ambient temperatures, or simply not drinking enough.
Carbohydrate electrolyte solutions increase water absorption during physical exertion and promote endurance in endurance sports.

Each 15-gram serving of ORS contains a generous 9 grams of carbohydrates and 2 grams of salt. This makes ORS perfect for taking during or around long, intense (endurance) training sessions. ORS is also a great supplement if you're spending extended periods in high temperatures or haven't had enough to drink. Of course, ORS is not a substitute for adequate hydration throughout the day.Mix 15 grams with 500 ml of drink of your choice.
