Maitake (Grifola frondosa), also known as Kumotake, is a mushroom native to China, Japan, and North America. In the wild, it grows at the base of old deciduous trees, particularly oaks, where it feeds on the root wood. In Europe, Maitake is rarely found in the wild anymore. Today, the mushroom is cultivated worldwide and widely used in Asian cuisine due to its characteristic aroma.Mycopower BIO Maitake is a vegetarian and gluten-free food supplement.
The extract is produced from Maitake mushroom powder via hot water extraction, in which the polysaccharide content is standardized. Maitake contains, among others, polysaccharides, including the polysaccharide grifolan characteristic of this mushroom. The polysaccharide content of the extract is 30%.
