For the extraction of this fish oil, we chose the most sustainable option: anchovies. The oil in our supplement is extracted from 100% anchovies, a non-endangered fish species. This contrasts with fish like mackerel, cod, and brown trout, which are often used as the basis for fish oil supplements. These species are included on the most recent Red List of Endangered Species and therefore far from sustainable options.
Furthermore, anchovies are naturally short-lived, and supplier Golden Omega harvests them in their natural habitat, off the coast of Chile. These are among the most fish-rich waters in the world. This is done under the supervision of Orivo®, a laboratory specializing in authentic and sustainable marine products.
