The green tea plant, or Camellia sinensis, originates from Southeast Asia. Steaming the leaves of Camellia sinensis prevents the oxidation of one of the plant's most important polyphenols, the catechins. To ensure the effectiveness of green tea extract, an adequate amount of active ingredients is required. That's why Vitakruid developed this green tea extract with 45-55% EGCG and at least 98 percent polyphenols. They also guarantee a minimum of 80 percent catechins. Each capsule also contains a high dose of 500 mg.
EGCG is one of the most important and abundant components of Camellia sinensis. As a zinc ionophore, this polyphenol increases zinc levels in our body's cells. For this reason, green tea extract is effective in supporting the immune system.** EGCG lowers bile acid levels in the intestine, which supports fat metabolism.** At the same time, metabolism accelerates, helping maintain healthy cholesterol levels.** This is also responsible for the key health-promoting properties of green tea, such as supporting immunity and promoting healthy digestion.**
