Vitamin D is actually a hormone that our body produces itself. Our skin produces the sunshine vitamin by absorbing the sun's UV radiation and generating vitamin D. Unfortunately, due to the climate in the Benelux, this only happens during the warm summer and spring months. It is also difficult to replenish this imbalance with only a vitamin D-rich diet.Vegan thanks to lichen, so 100% plant-based!
Wool fat is the primary raw material for the production of vitamin D. This development usually takes place by exposing the fat from sheep's wool (lanolin) to UV light. Due to the use of animal wool, we do not consider vitamin D formed from wool fat to be vegan.
That is why Vitakruid has developed Vegan Vitamin D3 Drops. This product is derived from lichen and is therefore 100 percent plant-based. In doing so, the good absorbability of vitamin D3 is preserved!
