Chaga, or Birch Shine fungus, is a parasitic fungus that originates in Russia (Siberia), northeastern Europe and the northern United States. Chaga is one of the most popular mushrooms and is therefore called the king of mushrooms. They mainly grow on birches, as the name suggests, but they can also grow on other trees.
