The saw palmetto is a plant with long green leaves, growing primarily in Central and South America. This elegant-looking plant produces white flowers with small yellow berries underneath, which is also what we associate with the saw palmetto's effectiveness. We extract the active ingredients from the ripe fruit of this American plant, making an extract many times more effective than the dried powder of the fruit. A so-called saw palmetto extract is primarily rich in active fatty acids, such as beta-sitosterols and stigmaterol.SabalSelect
However, saw palmetto extracts often fail to meet Vitakruid's quality standards. The active ingredients are not present in effective doses, are not evenly distributed, or the leaves form the base of the extract instead of the fruit. Beta-sitosterol is found in numerous plants, including saw palmetto and nettle. It's even the most potent substance in the extract of these other two flagship products of the prostate formula.
