Vitamins A, B3, and B6, and the minerals zinc and manganese are also important in the production of taurine.Taurine is widely occurring in the body.
An adult human has about 1 gram of taurine per kilogram of body weight in the body.

Taurine is a semi-essential nutrient for older children and adults and is synthesized primarily in the liver and brain from the sulfur-containing amino acids cysteine and methionine. This conversion involves vitamins A, B3, and B6, and the minerals zinc and manganese.
Babies and young children cannot yet produce taurine themselves; for them, taurine is an essential nutrient.
The dosage is about 100 to 150 milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day for adults and about 50 to 75 milligrams of taurine per kilogram per day for children.
The OSL (Observed Safe Level) for adults is calculated at 3 grams per day.
