Loperamide HCl, Capsule contents: [lactose monohydrate, maize starch, magnesium stearate (E572), colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide (E551)], Capsule shell: [sunset yellow FCF (E110), patent blue (E131), titanium dioxide (E171), black iron oxide (E172), gelatin (E441)], Ink: [titanium dioxide (E171), shellac (E904), propylene glycol (E1520), sodium hydroxide (E524), povidone (E1201)].Use of Teva Loperamide HCl 2 mg:
AdultsFor acute (sudden) diarrhea:
Start with 2 capsules (4 mg). Then take 1 capsule (2 mg) after each subsequent loose stool for as long as the diarrhea lasts. Never take more than 8 capsules (16 mg) in one day.
For chronic (long-term) diarrhea:
Start with 2 capsules (4 mg) per day. This dose should be adjusted until you have solid stools 1 to 2 times per day. This is usually achieved with 1 to 6 capsules (2 to 12 mg) per day. You should never take more than 8 capsules (16 mg) in one day.
