Product information for Vitals Vitamine C + Magnesium Magnesiumascorbaat:
Application of Vitals Vitamine C + Magnesium Magnesiumascorbaat:
✓Vitamin C and magnesium in one capsule for greater ease of use✓Non-acidic form of vitamin C
An ideal combination of 800 mg of vitamin C and a generous 60 mg of magnesium, from the easily absorbable organic compound magnesium ascorbate. Vitamin C in the buffered form of magnesium ascorbate is suitable for people who have difficulty tolerating ascorbic acid. Because magnesium ascorbate is less acidic than ascorbic acid, it causes virtually no gastrointestinal discomfort. Therefore, if a higher vitamin C intake is desired, a non-acidic form such as magnesium ascorbate is best chosen.
Vitamine C
Vitamin C is perhaps the most frequently mentioned vitamin, primarily known for its positive effect on immunity. And that's true, vitamin C supports the immune system, especially during periods of heavy physical exertion or in cold environments. But this vitamin is involved in a wide range of processes.
Vitamin C functions in the body as a water-soluble antioxidant and plays an important role as a free radical scavenger. It is part of a complex system of endogenous antioxidants, dietary antioxidants, and antioxidant enzymes with interdependencies and interactions. In this capacity, it is involved in protecting DNA, proteins, and lipids from oxidative damage and thus contributes to the maintenance of healthy cells and tissues. In addition, vitamin C is required as a coenzyme for three different enzymes involved in the production of collagen (the most abundant building block in the human body). Normal collagen formation is important for bones, cartilage, gums, skin, tendons, and blood vessels, among other things.
Vitamin C is essential as a cofactor for dopamine beta-monooxygenase (DBM), the enzyme that converts dopamine into norepinephrine and epinephrine. Both function as neurotransmitters and hormones in the body, and thus vitamin C positively influences the functioning of the nervous system and contributes to normal psychological functioning. Vitamin C is essential for two enzymes involved in the production of carnitine, which is necessary for the transport of long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria for energy production.
In this way, vitamin C supports energy levels. It can also help with fatigue. Moreover, many people do not get enough iron from their diet, especially women of childbearing age, pregnant women, and (young) children. Vitamin C ensures that iron from food is better absorbed. This concerns non-heme iron, which is found in both plant and animal foods. Vitamin C does not affect the absorption of heme iron, which is found exclusively in animal products. Approximately 90% of the iron in food is non-heme iron. Only 10% consists of heme iron. As an electron donor, vitamin C can convert oxidized vitamin E back into its active, reduced form, thus maintaining its effectiveness.
Humans cannot synthesize vitamin C themselves and are completely dependent on diet for their vitamin C supply.
Magnesium
Magnesium is good for muscles and important for maintaining strong bones and teeth. It is also involved in over 300 enzymatic processes. For example, magnesium is an important cofactor for enzymes involved in protein synthesis (the process by which proteins are created from DNA). It also helps maintain a healthy electrolyte balance by being a cofactor for many enzymes involved in maintaining an electrical potential across cell membranes. (Cells—especially nerve and muscle cells—use the electrical charge of electrolytes to conduct electrical impulses to and from other cells, such as nerve impulses or muscle contractions.) In this way, magnesium is involved in nerve conduction and muscle contraction, and is therefore important for muscle function, including the heart muscle.
In addition, an insufficient magnesium intake can lead to fatigue. Magnesium can help you regain your fitness in this case. It helps release energy from fats, carbohydrates, and proteins, thus supporting energy levels. It is also important for brain and nerve functions, which determine aspects such as concentration, memory, and mood. It also contributes to normal cell division and the production of cells and tissues.
