S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAM-e) is a sulfur-containing amino acid.SAM-e plays an important role in sulfur metabolism and is necessary for the production of glutathione, the most important intracellular antioxidant.
SAM-e also ensures the production of DNA and RNA, phospholipids, carnitine, taurine, cysteine, creatine, polyamines, hormones and neurotransmitters.
SAM-e is mainly produced in the liver from the essential amino acid methionine and ATP (adenosine triphosphate).
This tablet is enteric-coated, meaning that the tablet is not dissolved in the stomach, which means that the active ingredients are optimally utilised in the intestines.
