The test measures the pH value of the urine. The pH value ranges from 0 (very acidic) to 14 (very basic), where 7 is neutral.
A value below 7 means acidic
A value above 7 means basic
Morning urine is often somewhat more acidic because the body excretes waste products at night. Therefore, it is advisable to take multiple measurements at different times of the day.
Use of Alka Zuur Base Test - Verzuringstest:
Simply dip the pH strip into the urine, compare the colors with the color chart, and discover the pH value.Measure the morning urine immediately after waking up, followed by measurements around 13:00 and 20:00.
Add up all the measurements and divide by the total number of measurements for the best result.
