Manuka honey, with its dark color, is produced by honeybees from the nectar of the Manuka tree (better known as the Tea tree). The plants grow in the well-known, pristine coastal forests of Australia's east coast. The polyphenol methylglyoxal (MGO) makes the honey so special.
