Saffron, extracted from the styles and stigmas of the saffron crocus (Crocus sativus), is one of the oldest known and most precious spices. Its characteristic flavor and color have been used in various cuisines around the world for over 4,000 years. Furthermore, it has traditionally been widely used for its health benefits. Saffron is known to contribute to a positive mood.Saffron is sometimes called "red gold" because of its preciousness. Unfortunately, the high price of raw materials also means that inferior quality saffron is available on the market. The origin, production method, and purity of saffron are crucial for its quality and potency.
Vitals saffron contains the high-quality extract Affron. Both the cultivation of the unsprayed saffron and the production of the saffron extract take place at the producer Pharmactive in Spain. Because the entire production chain is managed in-house, ideal growing conditions can be ensured and quality can be guaranteed. The producer also has an external party perform DNA testing on their saffron as further confirmation that Affron is made from 100% genuine saffron.
From the pure raw material, a specially developed extraction method is used to obtain an extract standardized to 3.5% Lepticrosalides, a patented complex of the key active ingredients in saffron (such as safranal, crocin, and picrocrocin). This is verified using the HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) analysis method.
