S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAMe) is a sulfur-containing amino acid with a variety of functions in the body. It is, among other things, the most important "universal" methyl donor (a donor of CH3 groups) in methylation reactions in the body, plays a key role in sulfur metabolism, and is the precursor of glutathione, the most important intracellular antioxidant.SAMe is involved in the production of DNA and RNA, phospholipids, carnitine, taurine, cysteine, creatine, polyamines, hormones, and neurotransmitters. SAMe is primarily synthesized in the liver from the essential amino acid methionine and ATP (adenosine triphosphate).

Usage of Vitals SAMe 200 mg:
