This product uses the natural L-form of lysine, not the synthetic D-form. Only the L-form is physiologically active. Lysine for use in dietary supplements is produced by fermentation by microorganisms. Plants and microorganisms can, however, produce lysine themselves from the amino acid aspartic acid.
