Magnesium in the form of magnesium bisglycinate – where each magnesium particle is bound (chelated) to two molecules of the amino acid glycine – has excellent absorption.Amino acid-chelated magnesium has a higher bioavailability than other forms of magnesium, such as magnesium oxide. This is because the bond between magnesium and the amino acid is so strong in a chelate that it doesn't break down under the influence of stomach acid, unlike other magnesium compounds.
The advantage of this is that magnesium bisglycinate reaches the small intestine as an amino acid and is absorbed there through amino acid receptors. As is well known, amino acids are excellently absorbed by the body.
