In winter, humans produce insufficient vitamin D from sunlight. But this is difficult during the rest of the year as well. In autumn or spring, when the sun is at its peak, we are often indoors. Vitamin D plays an essential role in maintaining strong bones and teeth. It increases calcium absorption in the bones and contributes to normal calcium levels in the blood.
