Slowly pour the desired amount of clay into a bowl (not metal) containing an equal amount of water. Let this settle for some time without stirring so that the clay can absorb the water well. Drain off the excess water, and the paste is ready for use. It is advisable to use purified or spring water, as tap water usually contains chlorine, which can adversely affect the clay's performance. The remaining clay can be stored, provided it is not sealed and remains covered with a layer of water and in contact with light and air.Apply the paste in a layer 0.5 to 1 cm thick directly to the skin or affected area. You can hold this layer in place with gauze or plastic wrap. Remove the applied layer one or more times daily and apply a new layer. Note: be sure to leave in place any pieces of clay that have not yet dried, as the clay is still working there.
You can enhance the effect of Vertargil green clay for certain indications by adding tea tree oil in an amount of 15 to 20 drops per kg of prepared paste.
