Celtic sea salt is harvested manually using a traditional Celtic method over 2,000 years old in the Guérande region of Brittany, France. Of all the salts available, Celtic salt has the lowest sodium content, namely 89.7%. This makes Celtic salt softer and gentler than other salts.Celtic sea salt has a grey color because the sea salt mixes with various clay minerals. As a result, Celtic sea salt is richer in minerals than other forms of salt. Because the salt is not washed, all minerals are preserved. Additionally, the clay marshes ensure that Celtic sea salt is naturally purified and is therefore free from pollution.
The advantage of 'natural' unrefined salt is that you need much less of it than 'regular' table salt, since the flavor is much more pronounced.
