Dulcolax is a laxative used for difficult bowel movements, also known as constipation. The active ingredient in Dulcolax irritates the intestinal mucosa. This causes bowel movements to accelerate, propelling the contents of the intestines forward.Dulcolax suppositories have a direct effect on the intestinal mucosa of the rectum, the end of the large intestine.
You can prevent constipation by eating plenty of fiber-rich foods, such as whole-grain bread, vegetables, and fruit. These fibers promote bowel function. Drinking plenty of fluids and getting regular exercise are also important. If you still suffer from constipation despite this, Dulcolax suppositories can help restart the natural bowel movement process.

Each suppository contains:Bisacodyl 10 mg
Ingredients of Sanofi Dulcolax Bisacodyl 10 mg:
Bisacodyl, hard vet (Witepsol W45).Usage of Sanofi Dulcolax Bisacodyl 10 mg:
Adults and children from 10 years of age: 1 suppository (10 mg) per day.The indicated dosage must not be exceeded.
You can insert Dulcolax suppositories yourself.
- First remove the foil wrapper from the suppository;
If necessary, moisten the tip of the suppository with some water so that the suppository slides in better;
- Lie on your side;
- Next, push the suppository with your finger between the buttocks, through the anus, into the rectum;
- Now squeeze your buttocks together for a few seconds so that the suppository automatically slides up into the rectum.
It is important that the suppository is inserted deep enough (2 to 3 cm) so that the anal sphincter can contract fully again.
Warning:
Dulcolax suppositories should not be used by children aged 10 years and younger.
In general, you can expect the suppository to take effect after approximately 20 minutes (between 10 and 30 minutes). Please read information leaflet before use
