Application of Nicotinell Pleisters TTS10 7mg:
Nicotinell belongs to a group of medicines used as an aid in quittingwith smoking.
Nicotinell is a patch that you apply to the skin, similar to a patch that a
medicine contains in the side that sticks to the skin.
What is this medicine used for
This medicine is used to relieve nicotine withdrawal symptoms in
nicotine dependence when you want to quit smoking.
Composition of Nicotinell Pleisters TTS10 7mg:
Active substance: Each transdermal patch contains 17.5 mgnicotine in a 10 cm² patch and delivers 7 mg nicotine per 24 hours.
Excipients: basic butylated methacrylate copolymer (Eudragit E 100), aluminium-coated polyester foil, acrylate-vinyl acetate copolymer (Duro-Tak 387-2516), medium-chain triglycerides (Miglyol 812), paper 26 g/m², siliconized aluminium-coated polyester film, brown ink.
Usage of Nicotinell Pleisters TTS10 7mg:
To increase your chances of success in quitting smoking, you should stop smoking completely during treatment with Nicotinell patches.Nicotinell transdermal patches can be used as monotherapy (patches only) (see further 'Monotherapy') or – in cases of severe dependence – simultaneously with other nicotine replacement medicines such as chewing gum or lozenges (see further 'Combination therapy').
Nicotinell patches should not be used by smokers under 18 years of age without prior medical advice.
Nicotinell transdermal patches are available in three different strengths: 7 mg/24 hours, 14 mg/24 hours and 21 mg/24 hours.
The correct strength for you is determined based on the number of cigarettes you smoke daily or with the Fagerström test. This test determines your level of nicotine dependence. The results of this test can help you determine which strength is most suitable for you.

The dose should be increased if you experience withdrawal symptoms such as:
- a persistent urge to smoke
- irritation
- sleep disorders
- agitation or impatience

The dose should be reduced if you experience symptoms of overdose, such as:
- nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea
- excessive saliva production
- sweating
- headache, dizziness, decreased hearing, visual disturbances

Monotherapy (patch treatment)
Standard treatment in three phases:
Step 1: Will help you quit smoking
Step 2: Confirms smoking cessation and begins reducing nicotine dependence
Step 3: Helps to end the treatment.
The full treatment takes on average 3 months.
However, the duration may vary depending on the individual response; the full duration of the
monotherapy can last up to 6 months.

* If the urge is still high, go to a higher dose (or step) and resume the schedule from there
