What is this medicine used for:Gaviscon is used for the symptomatic treatment of complaints resulting from
burping and heartburn
Gaviscon works quickly (within 3 minutes) and
forms a layer of foam on the stomach contents. This protective layer of foam ensures that the
stomach acid remains in the stomach. If, by any chance, some stomach acid does end up in the esophagus
then the foam layer protects the wall of the esophagus against the burning stomach acid.
The effect of Gaviscon lasts up to 4 hours.
Composition of Gaviscon Anijs:
One dose of 10 ml suspension contains 500 mg sodium alginate and 267 mg sodium bicarbonate.Ingredients of Gaviscon Anijs:
Sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate, excipients: calcium carbonate, carbopol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), sodium saccharinate, anise or peppermint flavouring, sodium hydroxide, erythrosine (Gaviscon anise only) and water.Usage of Gaviscon Anijs:
The recommended dosage is:Adults and children aged 10 years and older
If necessary, 10 to 20 ml suspension 4 times a day
Children under 10 years
If necessary, 10 ml suspension 4 times a day
How to use:
Take the suspension after each meal and at bedtime.
Shake the suspension well before use and take it undiluted. Please read information leaflet before use
