Characteristics of Norsan supplements
Norsan products are produced in Norway. They contain as few ingredients as possible, no concentrates, and are purified from contaminants (such as heavy metals and PCBs) so that they can be consumed as naturally as possible. Analyses are regularly carried out by an independent and accredited laboratory, and these results are available to the public. The products meet the highest IFOS standards, using advanced technologies to ensure optimal purity and reliability. The fish used for fish oil and cod liver oil come from Norway, specifically from sustainable wild catches – never farmed fish. The fish oil is sourced from small deep-sea fish such as sardines, mackerel, and anchovies, which are processed on board immediately after being caught. These fish come exclusively from the Atlantic Ocean. Norsan olive oil is supplied by Rafael, an olive oil producer in Spain. His family business operates under strict ecological guidelines. The olive oil comes from controlled organic cultivation and contains a high content of polyphenols, which are important antioxidants. For vegan omega-3 products, marine microalgae are used. These are cultivated in large tanks with artificial seawater. This cultivation method preserves the natural food source for fish and protects the marine ecosystem. The algae oil is produced entirely separately from the fish oil. The added vitamin D is also vegan.
