Selenium is an important antioxidant. Certain enzymes (selenoenzymes), such as glutathione peroxidase (GPx), depend on selenium and play a key role in scavenging free radicals. This contributes to protection against oxidative damage. Selenium also supports the immune system by contributing to the production of certain white blood cells (immune cells). Selenium is also necessary for normal thyroid function because it is involved in regulating thyroid hormones. Among other things, it contributes to the conversion of inactive thyroid hormone (thyroxine, which consists of the amino acid tyrosine linked to four iodine atoms, or T4) into its active form (triiodothyronine, or T3).✓Protects cells against oxidative damage

Chloride (from CMD*) 61 mg
Magnesium (uit CMD*) 21 mg
*CMD = concentrated mineral drops (concentrated and dehydrated extract with the full spectrum of minerals and trace elements from the Great Salt Lake, Utah, freed from more than 99% of sodium).
Ingredients of Vitals Elementair Selenium 100 mcg:
Purified water, seawater concentrate (CMD*), acid: citric acid; sodium selenate, preservative: potassium benzoate (less than 0.1%).Slight crystallization may occur, but this does not affect the quality of the product.
