pH value of your urine:
The pH scale runs from 0-14, with pH value 7 being neutral. Values lower than 7 are called acidic pH values, values higher than 7 are alkaline.
The pH of our urine fluctuates between 5.0 and 7.5 throughout the day and depends on the meals we consume, among other things. Morning urine is usually acidic, as the body excretes more acidic waste products at night. After a meal, a healthy person has a flood of bases to trigger digestion. So a single measurement would not give an accurate picture.
Use of Alka Alka® pH Test strips:
It is ideal to measure the morning urine immediately in the morning, then take the second measurement at about 1pm and take the third measurement in the evening at about 8pm.The best result is obtained by adding up all the measurements you have taken during the day and dividing this total by the number of measurements.
Simply dip the pH strip into the urine, compare the colours of the strip with the colour chart and find out the pH value.
