A complex problem
According to recent epidemiological studies, not only adults, but also babies, older children and teenagers, often suffer from disorders of the gums and the tissues supporting the dental elements (periodontium).
Teething problems arise when the milk teeth break through the gingival mucosa; the trauma involved is usually slight, but causes the child constant discomfort.
However, the gingival space around the erupted tooth can become significantly inflamed, with more serious consequences (pain, infection).
In older children:
- poor oral hygiene
- wearing braces (especially the fixed type)
- incorrect diet
- inappropriate or jagged fillings
- intervening illnesses (such as diabetes), and
- the physiological hormonal changes that take place during puberty and the menstrual cycle
can cause “mild” gingivitis but also more severe gingivitis, chronic gingivitis and periodontal disease.
The common denominator of milk teeth, second teeth and the hormonal changes of adolescence is depletion of hyaluronic acid, the normal constituent of healthy periodontal tissues, leading to a reduction in the level of protection given to the mucous membranes of the oral cavity.
Common indications:
- inflammatory conditions (gingivitis, gingival bleeding, gingival retraction and gingival pockets)
- other tissue traumas (abrasion, tooth extractions, post-surgical recovery etc.)
- disease conditions in which the gingival mucosa requires an increased concentration of hyaluronic acid
Posology and directions for use:
Apply GENGIGEL film directly to the gingival tissue, massaging it in gently, with clean fingers, three to five times a day, continuing until all the symptoms have disappeared.
