Application of Healthypharm Wormkuurtabletten HTP Mebendazol 100 mg:

The active ingredient in Mebendazol is mebendazole.

Mebendazole kills worms, worm eggs and larvae by preventing the absorption of nutrients.

It can be used in various worm infections, such as arthropods, roundworm, whipworm, hookworm and tapeworm. It can also be used in some other worm infections that are especially common in the tropics.

Use of Healthypharm Wormkuurtabletten HTP Mebendazol 100 mg:

The dosage below applies to children from 2 years of age as well as adults. No special diet or laxative needs to be prescribed. If the worm infection is accompanied by diarrhoea, its symptoms should be treated at the same time.
Infections with earwigs: 1 tablet and 1 tablet again after 14 days, repeat every 14 days if necessary.
Infections with roundworms, whipworms and hookworms: 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening, for 3 consecutive days.
If complete cure is not obtained after three weeks, the treatment should be repeated.

How to.
Tablets: take with a glass of water.
Drinks: measure the recommended amount with the measuring spoon or measuring cup.

When.
You may take the medicine at any time of the day.

If you need to take it for several days, it is best to choose fixed times, so you are less likely to forget a dose. If you take it once a day: preferably in the morning. If you take it twice a day: in the morning and in the evening.

How long.
✓Resin maggots. Two doses at two-week intervals are usually sufficient. So on day 1 and on day 15. If they have not disappeared by then, you can take another dose after two weeks. In this case, consult your doctor or pharmacy.
✓Roundworms, whipworms and hookworms. The cure usually lasts for three days with two doses a day, morning and evening. You can repeat this cure after three weeks, if you still find worms in the stool after that time.
✓Tapeworm. The cure usually lasts from several months to several years.
Other worm infections. Depending on the species, the cure lasts three to 30 days, sometimes up to several months. You should only do so after consulting your doctor.

Side effects
Apart from the desired effect, this medicine can cause side effects. These practically never occur with the normal dosage used for archworms, roundworms, whipworms and tapeworms.

The side effects that may possibly occur are gastrointestinal upset, skin rash and hypersensitivity. In infants, serious side effects may occur, though, very rarely.

Rare
Abdominal pain and very rarely diarrhoea and flatulence. However, this may also be due to the worm infection itself.

Very rarely
Skin rash or hypersensitivity reactions, such as hives. A severe hypersensitivity reaction can be seen by tightness of the chest, a swollen face or a severe skin abnormality. If this happens, stop taking it and consult your doctor. You must not use this medicine in the future. Inform the pharmacy that you are hypersensitive to mebendazole. The pharmacy team can then make sure you do not receive the medicine again.

In infants, very rarely
Fever or convulsions. If so, warn your doctor. In children under 2 years of age, use this medicine only on doctor's advice.

After prolonged use of high doses, very rarely
Abnormalities in the blood, kidneys or liver. You may sometimes notice this by a sore throat, fever, blisters in the mouth, rapid bruising or jaundice. If this happens, warn your doctor.

Consult your doctor if you experience other side effects that worry you.
